Some of you know that my mom went to teach at our old school. Well, today was my last day there because of our traveling. I really had a good time at school. I had a few of my old friends from pre school in my fifth grade class.

Last night for my Spelling homework, I had to write a story using some of my spelling words. I thought that you would like to read what I wrote.

"On the farm lived a heifer named Molly. She liked to eat the vegetation in the meadow. The farmer had a hybrid dog named Spike. He liked to ride on the tractor when gathering the harvest. Spike would help irrigate the foliage. The farmer ran over Spike with the combine. He is now planted in the pasture."

The underline words are the spelling words.

Have you ever been able to watch a barn owl? If not, you can watch Molly & McGee a pair of owls taking care of their owlets. While you are there try watching some of the other outdoor life cams. The underwater camera in Key West, Florida is way neat. There are a couple of cameras from Europe and Africa.

What I've Been Up To...

Hey it's me again and I can't wait to tell you about the stuff that I did this summer and fall.

Ok, this is one, I got to go dove hunting this year. I knocked one down and I think I killed him. But we could not find him :{ what a bummer.

Ok,this one, was fun we went to Cherokee again, it was so fun. We got to see an Indian boy and he was doing one of the dances that they do. He was dancing to a loud Indian song with about 100 Indians. It was a CD. And my mother said it sounded a little scary. I don't blame her. Oh and the BK up there make some good and I mean GOOD chicken sandwiches.

We also, went to the mountains to take a quick visit. My mother had a flat stanley visiting, so we took him to the highest point in Georgia.

I also got 3 models to put together. The first one was a Kenworth big rig truck cab. The second one was an Apache helicopter. Both of them were the level one type, they snapped together. Then my dad's friend sent me a General Lee level 2 model. I enjoyed putting them all together, but the General Lee was my favorite since it was my first level 2 model. I got to paint and glue all the pieces.

And there were a lot more stuff only I can't remeber them so bye bye.

A Summer Update

I can't believe that it has been sooo long since I last blogged. I haven't really been up to much other than helping in the garden and watching and trying to learn how to can vegetables.

Science Experiment

This is a neat experiment that we did during Science the other day.

To be able to do this experiment you will need the following:

Shallow bowl, Tea light candle, Baking Soda, Vinegar, Lighter

Place the candle in the bottom of the bowl. Pour some of the baking soda around the candle. Light the candle and then pour a small amount of vinegar into the bowl -try not to pour it onto the candle.

You should see the candle go out. Do you know why? The vinegar and baking soda make a gas that smothers the flame on the candle. The flame needs air to stay lit.

The Candy Store

One day I went into a candy store. This was not just any store. It was a "country" candy store. Along the walls were shelves of baskets full of candy. Every kind of candy you can think of was there. One section was full of wrapped candy. One section was full of chocolate candy. One section of gumballs and jaw breakers.

I thought I was in Heaven. I could not believe I was surrounded by so much candy. My fingers ran circles around the baskets as I looked at each one, trying to make up my mind on what to choose.

As I was rounding the corner of one shelf, I noticed something. This was something I had never seen before. As I got closer, I realized it was a long glass case full of homemade chocolates and fudge. This was not the fake gas station candy bars that are made on a monstrous assembly line. Thus was the real thing. This was the chocolate that was made by hand and mixed with perfection.

The creak of the floor boards and the squeak of my fingers as they ran across the glass, played a beautiful love song as I danced with the smell of the chocolate. It was hard to decide on what to choose. There were Pralines, Bear Claws, assorted Fudges, Chocolate covered raisins and nuts. As I made my selection and hurried over to the lard old fashioned cash register, my heart was pounding. Pounding from the excitement of knowing that in just a few minutes, I would be enjoying a moment of "Chocolate Glory."

The bag of my found treasure fell with a thump on the wooden counter, as the cash register played a symphony of dings and dongs as the numbers grew higher. Three, Six, Nine they were soon to be mine. My watery mouth was replaced with teary eyes, when then lady told me the amount. I realized my pockets were empty. I had no money. I had no candy!

I opened my eyes and was laying in my dark room. I stumbled to the kitchen and had to satisfy my chocolate craving with a stale rice cake. Oh Well...

My Dad helped me write this story. It is not true, but it is based on the Old West Candy Store in Darby, Montana.

My Trip to Tybee Island

As you all know, my Momma types my papers for me, since it would take me a lifetime to get it finished. I hope you enjoy my writing.

My Trip to Tybee Island

My Momma and Daddy decided to go to Tybee Island on Friday. It was late when we got to our hotel, so we went to bed. My Momma likes to get up and be at the beach when the sun is rising. I like to do this too, only I don't like to get up so early.

The next morning we got up early to go to down to the beach. While we were walking, we saw a dolphin looking for food. We found thirty six sand dollars and tons of sea shells. We found a huge horse shoe crab. He was so big we could not move him. We saw crabs that we thought were dead, until my Momma moved one of their pinchers.

Later that day we went on a dolphin tour. We way shrimp boats at the dock. There were about 20 pelicans around the boats. They were waiting for food. On the boat we went out into the opening of the bay. We saw about 15 dolphins swimming. There were a couple of babies with their momma. Did you know that a baby is born a black color and they don't sleep for the first month? Dolphins have lots of teeth but they don't chew, they swallow their food whole. I also found out that dolphins sleep for a few minutes at a time. This is so they can come up for air. They get about 8 hours of sleep in a 24 hour day.

We went went back to the beach, my Momma found a red star fish and 2 small gray star fish. We added them to our collection of sand dollars and shells. I just don't see how she can pick up those things.

On Saturday night, we got to eat at the The Crab Shack. This place is really cool. The buildings are built around the trees, so it looks kinda like a tree house. They have a pool full of alligators that you can feed.

I got to try eating snow crab legs and deviled crab. I'm not too sure if I like crab meat, I'll have to try it again some time. My Momma don't like the crab legs, but she likes the deviled crabs. My Daddy likes crab legs.

We had a really good time. I always like going to the beach. I would like to live near the ocean when I grow up.

About Me

My name is **. I am * years old. My favorite food is pizza. Yummy!

My favorite holidays are my birthday (its a holiday at my house) and Christmas.

I have a lot of favorite games, these are just a few: Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4, Cabela's Big Game Hunter, ATV Off Road Furry, these are all for my PlayStation 2. Other games that I like to play are Battleship, Clue, Trouble and Uno.

I have been to many places, but my favorites are: Yellowstone National Park - I got to see Old Faithful, to see it spray its water was neat. I also got to see Mammoth Springs, that was neat too. I kind of looked like something you would see in a scientific movie. I have been to Mount Rushmore. Those heads are really huge! We went to the Grand Canyon. That place is awesome! You see all the different colors is the rocks. It was really neat to see it and think about how God created it during the flood that is in the Bible. My last favorite place is Little Big Horn. This is the battlefield where General Custer tried to fight the Indians. Did you know that there are grave makers for all the men who died? General Custer's is white and black, all the other's are just white. Boy, it must have been scary to climb the hill and see all the Indians that they were going to have to fight. It would have scared me.

My Trip To Cherokee

This is a creative writing paper that I had to write for school. My Momma is typing this for me, since it is kinda long.

My Trip to Cherokee

One day my family went to Cherokee, North Carolina. The weather was very foggy. Since we were in the mountain, the clouds were on the ground. We were able to get out and walk through the clouds.

While in Cherokee, we saw some Indians in their traditional native clothing. We went to see grizzly bears. We also got to feed them. There was a black bear that would dance for food. I got to pet a bear.

There were goats and a burro. We got to fed them too. While I was feeding a little goat, he tried to get out of the pen. He almost made it too, until his chubby belly stopped him. My dad helped squish him back in.

There were two Siberian tigers, but we were not allowed to pet or feed them. I guess, since they eat meat, they would have tried to take off my arm, maybe even my head.

We drove over to Maggie Valley, just to look around. While we were there we saw tubers tubing down a mountain of snow, when it was about 70 degrees. Then we drove home.

Cool Science Experiment

You want to hear about and try the coolest project ever in the WOLRD?

Ok here it is, it's called Crush Me If You Can
What you need:

Adult helper ,ice, water, bowl, saucepan, stove, empty aluminum soda can, tongs

Here's what to do:

Fill the bowl hone-half full of ice, and then add enough cool water to cover the ice. Set the bowl near the stove. Fill the pan 3/4 full of water and heat it on high. As the water in the pan warms to a boil, put just enough water inside the aluminum can to cover its bottom. Now is the time to exercise caution: When the water is boil, use the tongs to grab the can and hold it right side up in the boiling water. When a steady stream of steam comes from the can's opening, quickly remove the can from the boiling water and in the same motion turn it upside down and dunk the can's opening into the bowl water. The can crushes itself!

Why did this happen?:

The pressure of a gas and its temperature are directly related. If you heat up a gas, you increase the pressure(and volume). In this activity, heating the water to boiling changes it to a gas, Plunging the can (hole down) into the ice water rapidly decreases the temperature. And you just learned that that mean s the pressure must also decrease quickly. Nature likes equilibrium - for things to be equal. So, to make the pressures inside and outside the can equal, the can implodes (collapses inwardly with great force).

Field Trip and GUILTY!

Hey again! As you might not know that I went on a field trip yesterday. My class went to the Auburn City Hall and police department.We also got to see the Mayor and the court room. For some reason I felt GUILTY and I didn't do anything!!!

We walked from the school to city hall, with a police escort. That was fun!We also got to walk over the railroad tracks. It would be scary if the gates came down. I would run to the other side. And we had to walk all the way there and back!!!!!!!!!!

I DID IT!!!!

Yesterday, me and daddy went hunting. After spending what seemed like all day in the stand. I finally got a chance to kill me a deer. AND I DID!!!! We were both excited about the kind of deer I killed. A HUGE Buck, with 7 points.

I was so excited to call Momma and tell her. But I played a little trick on her and told her that it was only a doe. She was all happy for me. Boy, let me tell you what she did when we got home. She came running out the door to see my "doe" and when she walked around the corner where she could see the antlers, she started screaming and hollering,"That ain't no doe, that's a buck." She was so excited.

When I took the deer to the processor, I had the biggest deer in the cooler, imagine that. Because of my deer being the biggest, they gave me a big knife, so I could learn how to "gut" a deer.

I do have a little secret to tell...I did not even aim my gun. I just pulled it up and shot. God is still in the miracle business. If not, I would not have killed him.

Today I got to go hunting. We stopped at McDonald’s for breakfast. But the funny thing was they were not opened yet. Me and Daddy stood outside the door like sick puppies waiting for them to open.

And I almost killed my first deer ever! It was one of the best days ever but I did not shoot it. And I wonder if I can kill it on Saturday when I go back next week. I did not want to come home so bad but it was fun and we saw a ton of squirrels today.

My cousin gave me a big buckeye that he found. I played a trick on him. He wanted a Coke, so I got him one out of the box, while I got mine out of the cooler. He did not care.

This is my first post for my new blog. I had to talk Momma into letting me have one. I'm not much of a talker.
